Wednesday, 12 August 2009

It's been raining quite a bit around here.  About every 2 or 3 days it'll rain for about an hour or two.  About an inch or more.  Consequently, we are unable to use our toilets or sinks because the drainfield is flooded.  Not much fun.

Janice is feeling quite a bit better.  And, she's even been taking a nap each day.  (For those of you who know her you will immediately realize that this is something she we NEVER do in the States.  Too much mommy stuff to do.)  This has helped her recovery and we are hopeful that napping will help to maintain good health.  (The kids are even guarding the time well.  They play quietly and even screen phone calls.)

Tawnee has been sick for the past couple of days.  Not sure what she has.  Symptoms are high fever, throwing up, sleeping a lot.  In short, could be just about anything.  Pray for her.

Blessings.

Good for you Janice. Keep up those siestas everyday!! Everyone needs them to stay healthy in the heat! It wasn't an option in our home! Enjoy the rain even though the plumbing isn't working so good!! Isn't it wonderful how everything gets so green? Do you have a garden?

Tawnee's probably got malaria. Sounds like it anyway. I had it many times a year! We'll pray. It's not fun at all!! Mosquitos still love me!

Dear Steve and Janice,
I visited you last November with the group from the LB, and since then I have been friends with Alex on facebook. Last week I realized that Alex lives near us, and I invited Alex to see the movie "Julie and Julia" with my daughter Sonja, Trisch- (who led the trip to Chad/ Cameroon with her husband) and her daughter, Vicki (whose husband was with our group) and another young lady who also went with us. It was so fun to see Alex and get some updates on your lives.
My daughter, Sonja (19) invited Alex to participate in a young ladies' Bible Study which meets at our house every Monday night; another girl(Nicole, 21) will pick her up. We hope Alex will enjoy spending time with these lovely young ladies- most from Maple Park, spanning in age from 17-25- who desire to live life in a way that pleases their Lord.
I hope you find this to be encouraging- I'm certain it is no coincidence that we have crossed paths- and on top of it I met Janice's mom and brother at a choir concert tonight!
May you have the confidence that Alex is in the hands of your heavenly Father! Janet Tangen
