Laminating?

Last week, Gracey was told by her French teacher that she and the other "younger kids" would be getting an extra hour of instruction per day to help them learn a little more French. This was met with mixed emotions by her because she really didn't want to be at school while Alex and Payton weren't there.

So, this morning, after we had finished devotions, somebody mentioned how Gracey needed to stay 1 hour longer today. Gracey put her head in her hands and Janice blurted out, "Hey, don't say that, Gracey's been laminating that all weekend!" I said, "Laminating?" Janice immediately burst out laughing - as did the rest of us. We had a good laugh and soon Janice was able to say, "I mean lamenting! She's been lamenting over this."

Such is life with the sometimes linguistically mixed-up Mrs. Flude. Much to her frustration - but our enjoyment - she does this sort of thing rather frequently.

Hope you all have a good day.

new pictures of last year

Hey Everyone,
The Corwins sent us a ton of pictures and so I put them on.
I love how auntie looks in the picture of her and my mom on the otter!
Well today Liddy was learning how to ride her skates and she went down a little hill and she ran into the 2 big garbage cans and knocked all the stuff out. It was soooo funny but I laughed so hard and so did Emma! But we didn't get any pictures. Liddy was so embarssed, this old lady went by on her bike and was just looking at Liddy with her mouth open and her eyes wide :)
We have been playing with our new walkie talkies and we have also been spying on people and its fun! and we have been playing cops and robbers and that lots OF FUN!
Well we are gonna go watch a movie,
lots of love

Lazy Friday

Hey there!
Here a are a few recent photos.

That's Ethan hamming it up for the camera on our way to Geneva.

The others are a few shots at the Geneva airport. One nice thing about the airport was the restaurant that services those people who are waiting for friends and family to get off the plane. We arrived about 45 minutes early for the plane so we had a bite to eat. Hamburgers and French Fries. They weren't bad at all.

Enjoy your day.

Shocking!

I was just minding my own business while studying a bit after class when Gracey came over to tell me that there was a man at our house looking for me. So, I came home with her only to find the man talking with our tutor.

Turns out he was from the electric company and he was here to turn off our electricity. Apparently, we are using more electricity than the socialist government here allows per household.... no, that's not true. I'm just pulling your collective legs!

He was here to find out why we hadn't paid our electricity bill since we got here. To make a long story short, we determined that we have never been sent a bill because the school signed us up for the pay-twice-per-year plan. (I didn't know such a thing existed and if I did I would've never agreed to that.)

Well, because of the foul-up we didn't get our electricity turned off (yes, he was going to do that) but, as a result we now owe the electric company over 400 Euros. Yikes!

Janice is going with the Centre's secretary tomorrow to pay it off - all of it so that we don't get the electricity turned off.

Looks like this month will be a lot of rice and beans for dinner!

Hope you are all having a great week thus far.
