Lundi Soir En Albertville

Tawnee and Esther have been sick for the past several days. Tawnee hasn't been able to even go to school. Janice and I have been taking turns staying home with her. Me in the morning. Janice in the afternoon and vice versa.

It has been absolutely beautiful here the past week or so. A little bit of fog in the morning and then nice and sunny in the afternoon. Highs have been in the upper 60's to low 70's.

We will post more pictures of our house and the school and the town as time allows.

Thanks to all of you who have sent us care packages. The kids have really enjoyed the instant oatmeal and the top ramen soup. And, now that we have the right stuff to do some baking, I think we'll all enjoy a cake or some cookies. (A regular sized out of the box cake mix here costs almost $8.00! And, there's no frosting to be found anywhere in Albertville.)

A Lazy Sunday

Today was kind of a lazy day for the Fludes. We didn't do much other than spend the day at home. We had home church in the morning and then in the afternoon Steve and a few of the kids played a game of Settlers.

In the evening we went to Chapel at the school. After singing a few hymns (in English!) we told how we ended up in Albertville. It was a good time of encouragement and prayer. And, Steve only talked for about 30 minutes!

When we got back we watched Hoodwinked and ate some popcorn. Good times.

Thanks for all of your prayers. We can feel them. It is so comforting to know that we are being bathed in prayer. Your love and support means so much to us. Thanks!

The Conflans is in the old part of town where the King's castle and his court were. Very nicely presevered. In the background you can see the city of Albertville with the mountains as the backdrop.

and iv never done a blog before so this might be bad :)

well we are in france and france is so beautiful well at least here in the alps where we live is soooo pretty!!!!
there are vinyards on the hill and every time we see a tractor on the hill we think how in the world is that thing not fliping over on to its back and falling down the hill!!! its quite amazing.
well when we first got here we heard sirens like the ones they do in fergus when there it a tornato, so we went and asked this lady what they were and she said that if it went off 1 time then there was a fire and if it went off 2 times then there was a bad accident and if we heard a sound like a big boats horn then that meant that the dam broke and the whole town is gonna get flooded and we need to run in to the hills so we dont get killed!!
